First Year Anniversary.

Hello

It's been a long time coming, I've been very slack with the blogging, I'm finding it hard to think of things to put in the blog, but Me and Mr A have just celebrated our first wedding anniversary and we went to Prague - it was fantastic.
We had every type of weather you could think of, sun, wind, rain, snow, sleet you name it we had it but all the same it was a great few days away, and in my eyes a well deserved break for both of us.
Us and a few friends are doing a walk in July in aid of the British Heart Foundation, we are trekking 25 miles.......therefore Mr A thought this would be a great opportunity to start our training, OH MY GOD.....he has walked the legs off of me. We've climbed hills, ran up steps (128 to be precise!) and generally walked absolutely miles.....phew I've come home for a rest!!

As you can see it's a long way back down.....
If you've ever been to Prague you will know just how beautiful it is, and if you haven't been I think you should. The buildings are amazing and it so relaxing, plus big bonus the beer is soooo cheap!!!!

I think this has got to be my favourite photo, this was taken on our actual anniversary, we had dinner on a canal boat and as we came to the Charles Bridge we took this piccy and I think it is lovely.
I've probably bored you enough about Prague now, so for something a little more creative.

I did a crafts day with my sister a couple of weeks ago and it was really good fun, we learnt how to make different types of cards, did a bit of patchwork, there were only about 12 people on the course so it was a good day.
Here are couple of the cards I made, they aren't anything special and I think I need to do a bit of work on them and practice a little more but the basics are there and I was quite please with the way they came out....what do you think? Be honest I can take it xx

I think this is my favourite one....

Let me know what you think of them please as I need to know where I'm going wrong (if anywhere)
Hope you enjoyed my long awaited Blog, and I look forward to reading your comments

All exciting stuff....

Hi all
Iwent on Ebay the other evening and brought a few bits to start me off. I got some buttons and some bows and a few other bits and pieces to add to the front of some cards. What a bargin they were as well, I am very pleased with my purchases......

I also took a visit to the library on Saturday to find some books to give me some ideas and to see the types of things I can do. OMG the amount of books on card making and scrapbooking were unbelievable, my poor husband, libraries wouldn't be his first choice of places to be on a Saturday afternoon anyway let alone searching for books on card making...I sent him to look at DIY books, to give him some ideas!!!! Here are the books I've hired.

Some of the ideas in these books are amazing.
My next step is to search for some interesting paper and card, I don't really want to stick to the normal plan card as I think it will be more interesting to try different materials.
Once I've got some materials to work with I will try some bits and post them on here.
Even having just started with this, it has made my weekend much more enjoyable, even though I've still done all of my 'normal' weekend things, seeing friends and family I've been able to fill my time at home, plus it saves me having to watch every footie match going!!!
As the title of this post says - All Exciting Stuff.....I'm really beginning to get into it and find out just how many different techniques and ideas there are....I'll keep you all updated.

Step One

Hi all,

Well I've been searching for things to do and to give me a starting point, so I've booked myself on a 'craft creative day' I'm going to learn lots of different crafts including cardmaking, patchwork, 3D decoupage, emobroidery and parchment painting.
This doesn't happen for another few weeks so I'm really looking forward to it and just starting to get a few bits together.
I went to a haberdashery the other day with my very good friend Lucy and had a good look around, there was so much there and at the moment I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed by it all but I do think that after doing a bit of research I'll start to get some good ideas and have more of an idea as to what I'm looking for. I'm thinking of finding bits on scrapbooking as well as the different techniques can be used and adapted to this as well.
I love black and white pictures and simple things I don't really like anything too 'in your face' so this is my starting point and I'm going to develop on this. I also like the idea of using layering techniques so we will see what happens
I promise as soon as I start I will add some pics and keep you updated with my progress.

Please feel free to post any ideas or hints you may have

first timer....

Hi all

I'm 26 and this is the first time I've done 'blogging' my friend has been badgering me to start as she has a blog and has been given some really handy tips and ideas, so here I go.....
I don't really have a hobby but would like the idea of doing something creative and crafty, my thoughts we to start making cards, the only problem is I'm lacking in ideas.
I haven't really been thinking about this for too long only about 3 weeks so I'm not too sure where to start.
My problem is that I have many ideas of different things but then don't really stick to them so I thought if I could get some ideas and input from other people then it might help me focus!

I would like to be able to do something in the evenings at home after work so being creative to any level would be a good and fun thing to do.

My question is....Do any of you do this and have you got and 'thoughts and ideas' to help me out?

Thank you and I hope this hasn't been too bad as a first time blogger!
